Warringtonfireprovides certification of products, installers and quality management systems in accordance with internationally recognised standards. Where appropriate, each scheme is approved or accredited nationally. All schemes are operated under the direction of an independent management board which represents all stakeholders involved in fire safety.

Voluntary certification is that chosen freely to promote performance and quality. Products are certificated under the CERTIFIRE scheme and the companies that install them are certificated under the FIRAS scheme. Certification is against publicly available documented requirements specific to the type of product or service and is relevant to the national market in which they are to be used. Both CERTIFIRE and FIRAS offer significant advantage in promotion and recognition of products and services and provide confidence to the end user.
Mandatory certification is that required as a consequence of regulation and indicates compliance with minimum requirements for a product to be placed on the market. In Europe, for example, the requirements of various Directives (notably the Construction Products Directive and the Marine Equipment Directive) require the product to be marked (e.g. CE marked) to indicate compliance. Within Europe Warringtonfire certification operates as both a notified body and as a European Technical Approvals issuing body.
Through its certification activities, Warringtonfire provides added market value within international markets.
