CE Marking is the symbol as shown on the top of this page. The letters "CE" are the abbreviation of French phrase "Conformit¨¦ Europ¨¦ene" which literally means "European Conformity". CE marking is mandatory, it means the products comply with essential requirement of about 22 european directive and its harmonious standard. Therefore, it is very importance to manufacturers and trade who want to export their products to european market. |
Along with more directives' becoming effective, more and more products are required to bear the CE Marking for gaining access to the EFTA & European Union market. However, many non-EU exporters are still unaware of or unsure about this fact and its impact on their business. |

Procedure of CE marking
Locate Products Directives and European harmonized standards (EN standards) available for your product to address the essential requirements listed in all applicable directives .
Determine the conformity assessment module(s) applicable for your product. You can choose module A or others.
Testing for your product to demonstrate compliance with the essential requirements and standards.

Hire a Notified Body to review the design, performance and/or manufacturing quality assurance system for your product. The conformity assessment available to you will specify this requirement in detail.
Develop a "technical file" in accordance with all applicable directives that documents the application of all directives, essential requirements, standards and other relevant product safety information proving compliance.
Draft and sign a "declaration of conformity" that identifies the product, the manufacturer and/or the "authorized representative." By signing a "declaration of conformity," you are legally attesting that you have met all CE marking requirements.
